Technogym – the world’s healthiest place to work?
Alongside writer Alicia Kirby, I visited Italy’s beautiful northern coastline to photograph the headquarters of Technogym, the renowned producers of gym equipment. Our mission was to confirm rumours that the Italian company’s HQ was one of the best places in the world to work. The feature was for online platform Amuse, and it’s available to read online now.
Here’s a few images from the shoot:
It definitely didn’t feel like a typical manufacturing facility; Surrounded by manicured lawns, the factory floor itself was airy and spacious; Employees seemed positive and happy.
Maybe this was due to some of the delicious fare that was available in the staff canteen:
Or perhaps because each member of staff get’s 2 hours for their lunch break – an hour to eat and an hour to train. On site there is a huge, fully equipped gymnasium, a basketball court, and a running trail. Staff can even get a personal trainer!
Technogym staff go for a run (above) and play basketball (below) during a typical lunch break.
Employee health and wellbeing is even taken into consideration during meetings, with staff encouraged to sit on fit balls instead of chairs:
So is Technogym HQ the world’s best workplace? I’m undecided, but you can make your mind up by reading Alicia’s article over on the Amuse site.
