Update and Upcoming…

I’ve had a really busy february photographically, which after a worryingly quiet december and january has been a relief. The blog has had to take a bit of a backseat recently, but I do have some cool interviews and features lined up for the next few weeks.

First and foremost, the interviews will continue. In the near future, look out for the following:

  • A discussion with Samuel Bedford about moving to London to pursue a career in photography, and the trials and tribulations of his first year.
  • An interview with freelance photographer’s Assistant Benjamin McMahon about how assisting has helped him become a more confident photographer – and perhaps some additions to the “do’s and dont’s of assisting”.
  • A feature and interview with recent Photojournalism MA Graduate Adam Patterson about his series “Another Lost Child”

However, first up will be Mexican based photographer Mark Alor Powell – whose work has been a source of intrigue for me over the last two years.

Mark is an American photographer (he can also be found under the pseudonym “Locaburg” on flickr) who seems to not only have that elusive knack of finding beauty in the mundane, but also an incredbile lyrical quality that shines through in his portrayal of his adopted homeland.

If you have any questions that you would like to put to Mark in his upcoming interview, please post them into the comments thread below.

thanks! Ben.
