If things are going well with your work and the cash is flowing in, this might sound obvious, but don’t relax and go on a spending spree. Its tempting when you’ve spent the last 5 years totally skint and suddenly have a bit of money to play with, but remember that you are freelance and that the work can dry up in the blink of an eye.
Consolidate – put some money away in reserve for the leaner times that might be just around the corner. Don’t rest on your laurels.
