Petrol Heads
There’s one thing that Western Australian’s have in spades, and that’s space. Perth is one of the worlds most sprawling cities, stretching over 120km from North to South and covering 100,00 hectares. A side effect of this low density population is that people rely on cars to get around, which in turn has led to a love affair with the automobile that is embodied at the city’s raceways. At Barbagallo in the North, and Kwinana in the South, locals flock to the weekend pro races. However, the real enthusiasts can be found at the public races on weekday evenings, when petrolheads young and old turn up to race their finely tuned Fords, Holdens, Nissans and Toyotas.
