Carnival
Born in reaction to the UK’s first widespread racial attacks, The Notting Hill Carnival has grown to be the 2nd biggest street festival in the world. In 2008 I spent two days engrossed in the carnival from start to finish. These images are an attempt to depict both the joy and the tensions that occur when 1 million people descend upon a neighbourhood in west London.
